VNEA 8-Ball Pool League Information

The league will play on Tuesday nights at 7:00 p.m.  Preseason will begin on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.  We will have two weeks of preseason games to establish player averages.  Regular season will begin immediately after preseason (10/1/24).    During regular season each team will play against every other team, once home and once away.  All teams will qualify to play in playoffs (single elimination).  Higher seeded teams will have the home team advantage in playoffs.  Handicaps will be used during regular season and playoffs.  Players must have 5 weeks of play in to qualify to play in playoffs.  The championship game will be played in a neutral location chosen by Tommy Luzier.

Each player must be sanctioned through VNEA to play in the league.  The total cost is $15 per player.  Half of the cost ($7.50) will be covered by the league.  Players are responsible for submitting the remaining $7.50 to Kelly before December 15, 2024.

For a player to be eligible to play in the VNEA Pennsylvania state tournament (March 6 – March 9, 2025) they must have 8 weeks of play in the fall/winter season.  Players that played in the summer VNEA 9-ball must have 8 weeks of play in the summer with an additional 2 weeks in the fall/winter season to qualify.   You may not mix weeks played for multiple charter holders.

For a player to be eligible to play in the VNEA World Championships (May 22 – May 31, 2025) in Las Vegas they must have 12 weeks of play in total.  This may be from summer and fall/winter seasons.

Once again Park Ave Amusements, Inc. will be donating $2,500 to a team to help with the cost of playing in the VNEA World Championships.  This prize money will be offered to our 1st place team.  If they are not going to the World Championships, it will be offered to the 2nd place team, so forth and so on until a team accepts the donation.  This donation is to be used for expenses to play in the World Championships and will not be offered as a cash prize.  If no teams attend the World Championships, the donation will roll over to the 2025-2026 season.  Part of this donation will pay for the team’s greens fees and banquet tickets for each player attending (a purchase requirement by VNEA when entering a team).

Weekly stats will be sent via text to all captains to have on league night.  All players will be able to access weekly stats on the website www.parkaveamusements.com as well as on our Facebook group – VNEA 8 Ball - Park Ave Amusements.  We will be using our Facebook group to communicate with each other throughout the season.

Each location will be provided with a packet of supplies for the league.  Please leave the packet at your location.  At the end of every evening the home team captain will be responsible for taking a picture of the scoresheet and texting it to Kelly at 814-350-5474.  Both team captains need to make sure that the score sheet and dues ($7 per player) are put into the envelope and both captains have signed off.  Included in the packet you will find a team roster form.  This needs to be filled out and turned in by the first two weeks of the regular season.

The league recognition banquet will be held at the location of the winning team (if that location is large enough to accommodate the number of players in the league).  All league money minus league supplies and banquet expenses will be given back to the players and will be paid back based upon individual wins.  Players are paid back for all INDIVIDUAL wins from preseason, regular season and playoffs.  1st place receives 60% of playoff monies, 2nd place 40% of playoff monies.  Plaques will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place teams.  A trophy will be awarded to the Top Shooter (a regular player with the highest average for regular season), and to the league MVP.  The top three players will receive award certificates based upon points from the regular season only.   Award certificates and pins will be awarded for most 8 on the break, most 10’s in one season, most 10’s consecutively, most 10-0’s, most 8 ball run-outs, most improved player (patch), most valuable player, & most sportsmanship.
